Weißkopfsaki

Pithecia pithecia - White-Faced Saki

Kurzbeschreibung

Sakis are generally very calm monkeys. However, they primarily move by jumping, reaching distances of up to 10 meters. This is why locals also call them „flying“ monkeys. A characteristic hopping motion is achieved using only their hind legs, without the aid of their hands. In hardly any other primate species are the sexes as distinctly differentiated by coloration as in the white-faced saki.
